Sara Forkenbrock Skousen started her career as a Trust and Estate Paralegal guiding clients through the Trust administration and/or Probate administration process. Over the past 25 years, Sara has assisted in over 250 probates and trust administrations as well as numerous litigation matters pertaining to, and among other things, financial elder abuse, undue influence, and breach of fiduciary duties by current and former Trustees and/or Administrators.
More times than not, Sara’s involvement entails the death or incapacitation of a loved one which can be a difficult and confusing time in the client’s life. Sara’s experience in the administration of an Estate or Trust as well as litigation has provided her with a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with various family dynamics in simple, complex or contested matters.

Sara grew up in San Diego and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University San Marcos. In 1995, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she founded Private Fiduciary Services. Since then, the firm has grown to serve clients across multiple regions, including San Diego, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and the Bay Area—specifically San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Oakland.
Outside of her professional life, Sara enjoys spending quality time with her husband of 25 years. She is an avid beachgoer, traveler, skier, and hiker. At home, she shares her life with two beloved pets—Aspen, the ever-enthusiastic dog, and Sasha, the independent-minded cat—both proudly holding the title of Co-Chief Excitement Officers at Private Fiduciary Services.
Sara is is licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs – Professional Fiduciaries Bureau (#1414) and a proud member of the National Guardianship Association, Professional Fiduciary Association of California (PFAC) and the Trust and Estates section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
